PB&J Margarita Recipe

The PB&J Margarita is a unique and whimsical twist on the classic margarita cocktail. Inspired by the beloved childhood sandwich, this drink combines peanut butter whiskey, tequila, lime juice and grape jelly to create a sweet, tangy and nutty flavor profile that’s sure to delight your taste buds.

The defining feature of the PB&J Margarita is its distinctive purple color, which comes from the addition of blue curaçao and grape jelly. As you shake the drink, the blue curaçao and jelly gets mixed in and turns the liquid a beautiful bright purple shade, just like grape juice. The cherry garnish on top enhances this purple color and ties in the classic jelly component of a PB&J sandwich.

  • 1 tbsp grape jelly
  • 1/4 oz blue curaçao
  • Salt and peanut butter for rim
  • Lime wedge and cherry for garnish

Instructions

Variations

  • For a nuttier flavor, increase the amount of peanut butter whiskey to 2.5 oz and decrease the tequila to 0.5 oz.
  • If you prefer a sweeter drink, add 0.5 oz of simple syrup or agave nectar.
  • For a creamier texture, add 1 oz of half and half or coconut cream.
  • Get creative with your garnishes! Try a peanut butter cup, grape-flavored candy or a drizzle of grape jelly on top.

Tips

  • Be sure to shake the mixture very well to fully incorporate the grape jelly and chill the drink.
  • If you don’t have peanut butter whiskey, you can substitute 1.5 oz regular whiskey plus 1 tbsp peanut butter.
  • Adjust ratios to your personal taste preferences – use more or less lime juice, jelly, etc.
  • The peanut butter salt rim is key for the full PB&J experience, don’t skip it!
